Friday Farm - Eggs Aplenty

The young girls are all laying, I am pretty sure...the last few days I have gotten four or five eggs a day.  From eight hens, one of which has not laid since last Spring (Red).

The golf ball is in the nest box to encourage the young girls to lay in the box and not in some random location in my yard.

This is what eggs look like laid by real chickens.  They are not perfect.  They are not beautiful and clean....especially right now while the Pacific Northwest is under a downpour.  We have had over 4 inches of rain just in the month of March. The girls have muddy feet and they use those feet to move around the eggs and the pine shavings until it is "just right" for them to lay.
